Feature length documentary & multi-channel installation. 2022/23. In production.
A feature-length documentary portrait of some of the last remaining “quiet places” in the world’s oceans. The film observes the fieldwork of scientists from the K. Lisa Yang Center for Conservation Bioacoustics at Cornell University as they record the natural sounds of the last pristine underwater sonic environments in the South Pacific before they disappear. The film explores the effect of anthropogenic noise (acoustic smog) on marine species and how conservation bioacoustics as a discipline comes to terms with uncertain environmental futures.
